Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) - 2 Days

Course Information:

This two day face to face course, provides participants with the theory and skills necessary to undertake Basic Worksite Traffic Management on West Australian (WA) roads. This training is mandatory in WA for anyone who will be selecting and implementing Traffic Guidance Schemes on the road network.  Whereby erecting signs and devices for work on roads is part of their normal duties.   Content includes Main Roads WA requirements, Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management and the Australian Standard.

Units of Competence:

  • RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plans
  • RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace 

Certification:

Following successful completion:
  • Statements of Attainment
  • MRWA Certificate
  • MRWA Photo ID Permit (valid for three years)
  • Issued approximately three working days Perth Metro.  Regional training will take a little longer

Pre Course Requirements:

  1. Participants are required to hold and bring with them:
  2. White Card or valid Blue Card
  3. Photo ID (eg, passport, driver’s licence etc).
  4. USI (Unique Student Identifier number). Participants can apply for the USI at our website www.kelyn.com.au or direct to www.usi.gov.au.
  5. PPE

LLN Requirements: participants are required to be able to read and write in the English language and have basic numeracy skills. For example: undertake simple calculations, read and interpret information from documents including work procedures and legislation. Oral communications listening and questioning skills. Written communications e.g. produce reports including risk assessments and daily diaries.

Physical Fitness/Health: you need to have a level of physical fitness to quickly move from the path of an approaching vehicle, loading and unloading signs (5-10 kgs each) and setting out/packing up a worksite.

Dress Code & PPE:

Please bring with you

  • safety footwear
  • long sleeved shirt (hi-visibility or vest can be provided)
  • long pants
  • safety gloves suitable for manual handling
  • sun protection, hat and wet weather gear (if required)
Catering:  Catering will be provided for this public training courses including continual tea,  coffee, biscuits, Cup of Soup and  morning tea. Please contact the office if you have specific dietary requirements.
